Dear Parents, 

The reality is, we are facing an unprecedented crisis brought by the coronavirus pandemic.  Today, May 27, is the 72nd day since lockdown began on March 17. In that span of time, we proved that with faith in our Creator, we can withstand the challenges it brought on our family, especially to our children.  Morning Star is part of your family. Our teachers are your children’s surrogate parents in School. We do not just teach, we nurture and guide your children.  Every year when you enroll your child, we renew our unique partnership.  It is spiritually unique because we pledge to raise a child our Creator entrusted to us.  Their education in Morning Star is all about developing the fundamental skills of life:  Gratitude for the “Stay at Home,” for we discover each other. We became more caring and understanding of one another. Gratitude for the “social distancing” that opened our eyes to the missed chances of being close to our loved ones.  Gratitude for people and circumstances unexpectedly showing up to lift our spirit.  In our humble way, we hope to lift your spirit, as we present to you our plans for this school year.… 

The Morning Star’s Adaptive Learning Program or ALP is our version of the flexible “Hybrid Learning” program that combines homeschooling alternative, online teaching, and when the situation permits, classroom teaching.

Since April, our School officers, department leads and teachers have been searching for a combination of dependable learning platforms where we can deliver the rich curricular program of Morning Star’s …

Homeschooling Alternative is our answer to concerns on the reliability and strength of the internet.

Students will be able to continue learning in the safety of their homes during natural calamities, power failures, or other emergencies preventing the student from attending classes in school. This program is a collaboration between teachers and parents.  We will conduct an online Parents’ Orientation by the end of July or early August. Our program includes Parents’ Support Meetings.

Our online program includes a once a week, virtual classroom experience where the subject teacher will conduct an interactive lesson (Synchronous Learning); a video on important lessons, and an individual student-mentoring- chat through the use of cellphones or landlines. 

Homeroom on Zoom is a once a week online meeting of the whole class with their Class Adviser.

Be Creative and Be Active is a Quarterly Folder of fun activities for the student and the whole family.

i.GreW is a Quarterly Program of value-laden activities for development, appreciation, and application of life skills.

Modified School Fees

We understand the financial challenges the pandemic has brought upon our partners.  Last February, Morning Star celebrated its 38th Anniversary.   We wouldn’t have gone this far, were it not for the support of our school parents.  Thank God for sending you to us.  As your partner in raising your children to be good Christians, the management has decided to show its gratitude to you.

1. Defer till next school year the announced tuition fee and other fees increase for SY 2020-2021.
2. Revert to the previous SY 2019-2020 tuition and give 20% off for SY 2020-2021 tuition.
3. Drop items in Other Fees that no longer apply such as: Monthly Programs, ID and class pictures, medical, computer and home technology projects.
4. Reduce the Basic Fee by 20%. Expenses on Meralco, repairs and maintenance will dramatically decrease since students are not in School. However, should a “Back-to-School” government order be proclaimed, we will collect a corresponding Basic Fee for the period covered.
5. Adopt a more relaxed payment scheme for Tuition and other Fees from Trimestral to Quarterly Payment.

We hope that somehow, the modified payment scheme will be helpful to our School parents.

Online enrollment will start on June 17, 2020.  We will post the Modified Fees, including details on this site. 

Classes will begin on August 10, 2020.  The first two weeks is Migration Period, transitioning into the new normal school system.

If you have friends and relatives who may be interested in enrolling in Morning Star, they may contact us through our landlines or Globe lines.  Transferees need only to send a screenshot of their Report Card to apply. To be accepted the applicant should have no grade lower than 82% in Math, English and Values Education in all 4 quarters. We are not giving Admission Exams for this School Year 2020-2021.

COMPLETION OF FINAL ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS FOR SY 2019-2020 BEFORE THE LOCKDOWN

Our students have completed all 4th Quarter academic requirements before the March 16, 2020 lockdown.

Final Exams were taken and projects were submitted to their respective teachers.  The students’ grades have been computed and recorded in their Report Cards (Form 138). However, we still need to sit down for the ‘reading’ of grades as required by the Dept. of Education. This is done to ensure the accuracy of grades’ entry on Report Cards.

We will announce as of when, Report Cards, certificates, awards, medals, diplomas (graduates), pictures and other personal things may be collected in School.  We will wait for health safety clearance from our local health officers.

REFUNDS FOR POSTPONED/CANCELLED GRADUATION PROGRAMS

1. Charges on items already delivered or paid are deducted from the refund.
2. If you have outstanding accounts with the School, the refund will be applied on it.
   Whatever amount remains will be refunded.
3. Refunds may be applied on SY 20-21 Enrollment School Fees.
4. You may opt to receive your refund through any of these banks: BPI, BDO, Chinabank or Metrobank.
5. Please send us (SMS) your bank’s name, account’s name, type of account, and account number.
6. We will notify you once the deposit has been made.

MSMSI Calamba Campus

1. STAR KIDS Fee = P1,300.00 for Nursery and Pre-Kinder. REFUND = P1,100.00
   (P200.00 covered the cost of Star Kid Certificate, invitation lay-out, and preparation expenses)
2. GRAD BALL Fee = P3,700.00 for 6th Grade pupils. REFUND = P400.00
   (P2,970.94 was paid to Monochrome for venue and food which is non-refundable, but can be used at a later time,
   the rest covered the cost of invitation, souvenir, awards, prizes and preparation expenses.
3. GRAD FEE = P2,100.00 for Kinder and 6th Grade pupils. REFUND = P1,400.00
   (P700.00 covered the cost of diploma, diploma jacket, grad picture and preparation expenses)

MSMSI Los Baños Campus

1. STAR KIDS Fee = P1,000.00 for Nursery and Pre-Kinder. REFUND = P800.00
   (P200.00 covered the cost of Star Kid Certificate, invitation lay-out, and preparation expenses)
2. GRAD FEE = P2,100.00 for Kinder and 6th Grade pupils. REFUND = P1,400.00
   (P700.00 covered the cost of diploma, diploma jacket, grad picture and preparation expenses)
3. MOVING UP FEE = P800.00 for 10th Grade students. REFUND = P200.00
   (P600.00 covered the cost of certificate, certificate jacket, picture and preparation expenses)

Certificates, diplomas, pictures, and souvenir items were delivered before the lockdown.  The cost of these items will be charged to those who have not settled the fees yet.
